About the Program: The Pathway to Service summer program is designed to provide recent high school graduates with a unique opportunity to kickstart their journey toward an 11-month service commitment in September 2024. As a Summer Artist-in-Residence, you will immerse yourself in a fulfilling role, gaining valuable experience as you work alongside other Artists-in-Residence teaching artists with disabilities and preparing them to be artist entrepreneur in our studio spaces.
What You'll Do: As a Summer Artist-in-Residence, you'll be at the heart of our mission, facilitating studio activities, leading small groups, and providing one-on-one mentorship to artists with disabilities. This hands-on experience will not only enrich your skills, but also empower you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Where You'll Work:
St. Luke Studio: 1611 W. 14th Street, Austin, TX 78703
Evergreen Studio: 1701 Evergreen, Austin, TX 78704
Program Duration: Your transformative summer experience starts June 3, 2024, and ends August 9, 2024. As a Summer Artist-in-Residence, you'll complete 300 service hours, with flexible in-person hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM, and Saturdays, 9 AM - 4 PM, when the studio is open.
Compensation: We value your commitment and dedication. That's why we offer:
Payment: Receive $3,200 over the course of the program, with payments made twice a month.
Education Award: Earn $1,565.08 in the form of an education award, which you can use at eligible educational institutions upon completing your service.
