Community Resources

If you find yourself in a financial bind with food, rent or utilities in Austin (Travis County), contact Texas 211 by dialing 2-1-1, a free social service hotline available 24 hours a day, seven days a week or visit https://www.211texas.org/. Texas 211 can connect you with local community resources that may be able to provide the assistance you seek.

CapMetro is Austin's regional public transportation, offering bus, and paratransit services and a commuter rail system known as CapMetro Rail in Austin and several suburbs in Travis and Williamson counties.

The AmeriCorps Member Wellness Resources focus on your health and wellness. Your wellbeing is extremely important to us which is why AmeriCorps provides health benefits and other resources to assist you in your own self-care; such as the Member Assistance Program (MAP).

AmeriCorps Central Texas Member recognizes the importance of member well-being and developed a resource on Self Care and what Health Care Options in Central Texas area available to members.

The Hi How are you? organization was inspired by the late Austin musician/artist Daniel Johnston who was challenged with mental health issues throughout his life and created a website to foster open conversations around mental health.

Mindful Minutes….at the start of your day, take a few minutes to reflect on these six self-coaching prompts to ground and center yourself, so you can launch your day with mindfulness, purpose, and focus!

Help with Food Stamps. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly called food stamps, is a federal program that provides extra money for groceries each month for qualified households. SNAP benefits are deposited onto an EBT card that can be used at most grocery stores and farmers markets.
