Natalie became blind 12 years ago and never thought she would enjoy creating art until she had the opportunity to throw on the pottery wheel at Imagine Art. Natalie likes the wheel because it is tactile and doesn’t require sight; it depends on feeling and touch to produce the work. She mainly produces bowls both for function and decoration, but on occasion candle holders and planters. Natalie loves feeling the sense of accomplishment after a work is complete and it makes her feel comfortable and relaxed. Throwing on the wheel requires hand strength and patience, and as a result she now has both.
