DAVID CHAPPLE
Artist Bio
One evening when David Chapple was talking with his girlfriend Kate, her father and stepmother (who is an artist), they mentioned a disabled man who painted with his foot. David said that he had painted with his head when he was a child. They asked him why he stopped, and David says, “I didn’t have a good answer! So, they bought me paint and brushes and helped me get set up. They fixed a special headband for me to use.” David has worked in acrylics to produce several paintings. He enjoys making pet portraits, landscapes, and cityscapes. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he moved to Austin in April 2012 to be with the woman he loves. David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Cleveland State University. Born with cerebral palsy, David is quadriplegic and uses a visual tracking device connected to his computer that allows him to “speak” digitally.
