Kelsey Haase moved from Chicago to Austin 6 years ago, and has been with Imagine Art for 5 years. Her medium of choice is clay, and enjoys working with her hands and the particular feel of clay. She finds it easy to mold and very workable, allowing her process to be iterative, giving her the freedom to experiment. Kelsey describes her style as “out of the ordinary”, and likes mashing-up seemingly disparate aesthetics and for this reason, she draws inspiration from artists with bold and lush work, like that of Frida Kahlo. When not working on ceramics, Kelsey plays on a Women’s Basketball team and relaxes at home with her service dog, Amelia.
