Wondering what to do after graduating high school?

Consider applying for an Artist-in-Residence position at Imagine Art where you will gain real life and work experience facilitating studio activities, teaching small groups and providing 1:1 mentorship to artists with disabilities in studio. Living Allowance and Benefits

The Living Allowance is $17,800 (Full Time) and $8,400 (Part Time) over an 11-month period in exchange for service hours. 

At the end of the 11-month term of service the AmeriCorps members receive an educational award in addition to the Living Allowance.  The award is $6,895 for FT Members and $3,447 for HT Members.

As an artist-in-residence, AmeriCorps members have an opportunity to sell your artwork at Imagine Art sponsored events and have your artwork exhibited as part of Imagine Art sponsored exhibitions. In addition, AmeriCorps members will be supported throughout their service year in preparing for “life after AmeriCorps,” so members ready for the next phase of their professional life.

Health care benefits are also available to eligible members.

Service Dates

Eleven-month term of service, beginning at the start of September and concludes at the end of July.

Service Hours

The FT service hour requirement is 1,700 hours and the HT requirement is 900 hours - all of which is required to be achieved in the 11-month period. Service hours are flexible and occur in person, with limited remote options, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
