The Career Palette is a new project of Imagine Art offering two distinct services -- Job Placement and Small Business Development in the Arts. The Job Placement Services contract with DARS (The Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) to provide direct training and services that enble artists to obtain a job in the arts. The following specific services are available:

Job Quest

Job Quest is a two day training program that teaches interview skills, resume development and job seeking skills. Participants walk away with a completed resume, an application template, a list of prospective jobs and employers. Mock interviews are videotaped for group critique.

Job Placement

Job placement is a process where participating artists work with our VISTAs and Job Specialist to identify specific jobs and secure employment. The service includes help negotiating the position if necessary.

Job Coaching

Job Coaching is a service where our Job Specialist provides direct one on one training at the job site until the artist has been trained services include mediation with the employer and identification of adaptive equipment and accomodations.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment is a combination of Job Quest, Job Placement and Job Coaching and designed to facilitate employment for artists challenged by more significant disabilities. The service includes Person Centered Planning meetings with families.

Small Business in the Arts

The Small Business in the Arts project directly supports artists to develop micro-enterprise and small businesses. Services include a monthly peer group of small business owners, workshop and trainings.
